The Sacred Ruins of Kithara’Vahl, also known as the Throne-Grove of the Leopard Matriarchs, is the ancient heart and primary seat of power for Tygra, the Feral Queen. This living temple-palace, deep within the mist-shrouded jungle, serves as the ceremonial capital of the Sanctuary and the sacred site where every Leopard Matriarch is crowned.

Core Essence

Kithara’Vahl is far more than ruins — it is a living temple where stone and jungle have merged into one. Millennia ago, it was the glittering seat of a lost civilization that worshipped great cats as divine guardians. Today, the jungle has lovingly reclaimed it, transforming the palace into a breathing sanctuary where nature and ancient sovereignty exist in perfect harmony.

Physical Description

Entered through a crumbling black basalt archway carved with processions of ancient leopard queens, the ruins are enveloped in thick python-like vines, emerald moss, and blooming orchids. At its center lies the majestic Throne-Grove — an immense open-air hall where the palace roof long ago collapsed.

A colossal, ancient kapok tree has grown directly through the heart of the old throne dais. Its massive buttress roots have split the marble floor and lovingly cradled the original dark teak and gold throne, lifting it into the embrace of living wood. The tree’s vast branches form a natural vaulted canopy, draped with flowering vines and epiphytes that bloom in scarlet and violet only during coronations, releasing an intoxicating perfume said to carry ancestral voices.

Broken pillars wrapped in strangler figs, shallow reflective pools, and glowing bioluminescent fungi at night complete this sacred landscape. The air hums with the sounds of waterfalls, hornbills, and whispering leaves.

Significance

This is the holiest site in the realm. It is here, beneath the great kapok, that new Matriarchs are crowned. The candidate ascends the root-wrapped dais alone. If accepted by the ancestors, the sacred orchids burst into bloom at dawn, and her roar is answered by every leopard across the jungle.

Kithara’Vahl symbolizes the eternal truth of the Feral way: true power does not belong to cold stone, but to the wild that outlasts it. It is both ruin and renewal — the sacred place where the Matriarch communes most deeply with the jungle’s will.
